 Finding Images of Particular Locations

 

The Woophy Project is collecting images from around the world and mapping them to a website.  Some teachers use an image as a writing prompt, to deepen understanding of geographic regions, to practice vocabulary in language classes as students describe what they see.

 

Search for photos taken at a particular location that are geo-tagged on Flickr maps.

 

Adding Speech Bubbles to your Photos

 

Speechable allows you to add speech bubbles to photos that you put up on wikis and blogs. Here's a blog post about educational uses.

 

 

 

Flickr: On Line Photo Storage and Management.

 

Set up a private group to manage photos from your class adventures with cameras (or cell phones!  You can send photos directly to flickr from a cell phone). Kids can then acccess photos for their blogs, voicethreads, or wikis, but no one outside the group can see them.

Annotations

 

Flickr allows you to add notes to any of your photos.   You can view these on the flickr site or embed these annotated photos into a website/wiki page (or some blogs, but not Wordpress or Blogger), as this blogger has done.
